As you will have heard on the news, finally the Uk Govt has adopted a more sensible approach to dealing with holidaymakers returning from holiday destinations where virus infection rates have recently risen – instead of placing a blanket quarantine on a whole country, it is now adopting regional travel corridors within countries. Although this led to 7 Greek islands having quarantine restrictions imposed on returnees, this is GREAT news for our clients since Lefkas has one of the lowest infection rates in Europe, let alone Greece.
And Even Better News - we’ve got some great deals for the end of September – scroll down for info.
Theoretically a country/region should only be put on the quarantine list if the seven day average of cases per 100,000 rises above 20. As of today, the seven day average in Greece is 14, down from 14.7 in the previous week and it has never been higher than that. The Greeks have done an extraordinary job keeping the virus under control with only 279 deaths over the whole year…as compared to the 40,000 plus in the UK!
However, the news is even better for Lefkas - EODY (Greek National Public Health Organization) has published a map showing the infections per 100,000 by region over the last ten days. As the arrow shows Lefkas is white which means between 0 to 4 cases (and probably nearer zero than 4!).
Given these facts, it is extremely unlikely, under the current approach by the Uk Govt, that holidaymakers returning to England/Wales from Lefkas would have quarantine restrictions imposed, especially since we only have 3 weeks left of our season.

Unfortunately, given the conflicting news and speculation in the UK media over the past few weeks about travelling and quarantine, understandably many people have delayed or put off their holiday plans. Because of this, most unusually, we have spare capacity for the last two weeks of our season.
