New for 2023: The Snorkel Safari

Well we have been open now for four weeks and can happily report that Vassiliki is as glorious as ever! With several new activities on offer our Healthy Options clients have particularly loved our new Snorkel Safari. This is an opportunity to channel your inner mermaid - one for all Cousteau fans.

Skipper for the trip is George from the established local diving and kayaking centre, Nautilus - much loved by our sister company Wildwind Adventures clients. He will be sharing his expert knowledge of Vassiliki Bay to explore the best spots to discover the underwater wildlife.

So what is a Snorkel Safari?
We start with a short stroll along the beach, following the water’s edge, to where we meet the boats in the fishing village of Vasiliki. On the way it’s too tempting not to stop off for essential coffees and pastries: all the fuel needed for the two hour expedition ahead!

Buoyancy aids on (all provided) the boats go out of the bay and round the headland to Agios Fili for the first of our snorkel stops. Expert snorkeling tuition is provided - and where better than in this crystal clear water?

Then it’s back in the boats and on to the local dive reef Americano for the next snorkel stop. This is really rather special with 13 metres depth of unrivaled underwater beauty. We get there at just the right time of day for shafts of sunlight to reach down to the sea bed: it's truly magnificent.

Then we head west to Barbecue Beach for another dip or, if we've already spent longer on the two other snorkels, we elect to take a longer route home to The Wildwind beach taking in the views of Vassiliki Bay.

At the end of the trip you're back home just in time for the next class in the Yoga tent…
