Whatever happens with Brexit Healthy Options has been quietly getting on with organising the summer schedule for our Vassiliki and Syvota programmes this coming summer.
Despite all the uncertainty, we’re pleased to say that we have far more bookings already than we had at this time last year – not surprisingly it seems people want to have something fun and exciting to look forward to amidst all the doom and gloom around at the moment!
As the political process is still continuing, and we do not know the final outcome, there have been various reassurances around flights and country entry requirements from ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) and the UK Government as well as the European Commission.
I've already booked my holiday; will it still go ahead as planned?
Yes, both the European Commission (EC) and the UK Government have made it very clear that flying will continue as normal even in a "No Deal" scenario.
ABTA also advises that regardless of the Brexit outcome planes will still fly between the UK and the EU as there will be a two-year transition period, this means nothing changes until 31 December 2020. So, rest assured that your holiday will go ahead as planned and we will continue to offer you a great holiday this summer.
I have already booked my holiday will the cost of my holiday increase due to Brexit?
Absolutely not (unless you decide to make any changes to your booking that would alter the holiday price).
Will I need a visa to travel to Greece?
UK passport holders will not need a visa to travel to the EU. The European Commission announced in November 2018 that, even in a no-deal scenario, UK citizens can still travel to the EU without a visa.
Will my current UK passport still be valid to travel to Greece?
Yes, but the UK Government has suggested that all travellers check their passports. If it has less than six months remaining from the date of your arrival into an EU country, then it is advised that you renew your passport.
Remember that Passport validity will be worked out from the issue date and so, if this is over 9 years and 6 months you will need a new one. The UK Government have created a useful tool to check if your passport is valid. Click here to check your passport
How is my holiday and my money protected?
In the extremely unlikely event of your holiday having to be cancelled due to the outcome of Brexit, by booking your holiday with Wildwind Holidays you are fully financially protected. All holidays booked with flights are ATOL (Air Travel Organisers' Licence) protected - our ATOL number is 10042.
Will my European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) still be valid after Brexit?
In the event of a no-deal Brexit UK registered EHICs will no longer be valid. It is recommended that travellers take out comprehensive travel insurance ahead of any trip, no matter where they are travelling to, in particular where you are participating in an activity holiday that you are fully covered for any injury whilst participating in those activities.
