Travel Information updated 8th July 2021

We are delighted to announce that in line with recent changes to the restrictions of travel to Amber countries our British Airways flight will now start operating on Sunday 25th July.

Briefly the rules have been substantially relaxed to allow those who have been fully vaccinated to travel and return to Greece without any need for quarantine, even if Greece remains on the Amber list. Essentially, the protocols for fully vaccinated adults (18+) and any children under 18 travelling to Green and Amber countries is now virtually the same.

To enter Greece all that is needed is proof of vaccination which can be taken from the NHS app https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-pass/   Children under 12 do not require any testing, while those over twelve or anyone who has not been vaccinated require a rapid flow test https://travel.gov.gr/#/

All passengers travelling to Greece must also fill in a Passenger Locator Form which can also be found on the Greek Govt site.  Please note the airport we fly to is named AKTIO (not Prevesa PVK though it is the same place!)

On returning to the UK under the new rules announced today, for fully vaccinated adults and children under 18, no period of self-isolation is required. All adults and children 11-17 years require a lateral flow test prior to departure that we have arranged for you to take at Wildwind and at no cost to you. Once back in the UK all adults and children 5-17 years have to take a PCR test on Day 2. For the Day 2 test we are providing a discount code with a recommended supplier offering a special rate of only £43 for this test that you take at home…even better news is that Wildwind will cover the cost of this test via a discount on the cost of your holiday. Children under 4 years are exempt from all testing.

For those adults who are not fully vaccinated the current rules (if Greece remains on the Amber list) would still require 10 days self-isolation on return with a further PCR test on Day 8 and if early release from quarantine is required after 5 days another test on Day 5. Wildwind will cover the cost of the test in Greece and the Day 2 test in UK – costs of all other tests would be borne by the individual traveller.

Completion of a Uk Passenger Locator Form is also required prior to return and this must show proof that the tests required in Uk have been pre-booked. Proof of a negative test in Greece will be required to check in for your return flight and on arrival at Border Force in the UK.
